When Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding at Cana in Galilee, I bet he turned it into a Barkan Classic. I pondered such pithy thoughts while drinking a glass of the Israeli export and watching the Lakers on TV.The Barkan Cab has a good flavor of dark fruit and oak with a little spice. Not quite as full bodied as California Cabs but still a pleasant surprise from a nation not known as much for its wine production (at least not since AD 30).
This bottle paired well with a spinach salad topped with carnitas and peppers. Watching the Lakers lose another game in the post-Kobe era was much less painful with this beauty in my hand.
